Welcome to the Writing & Speaking Center at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The UWSC is open for in-person appointments, online appointments, and writing lab use for fall 2026.
The regular hours of operation for fall 2026 are:
- Monday: 8:45am-5:00pm
- Tuesday: 8:45am-8:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:45am-8:00pm
- Thursday: 8:45am-8:00pm
- Friday: 8:45am-4:15pm
- Sunday: 2:00pm-6:30pm
New drop-in hours (including reading studio)! Don't see an available appointment or just want to swing by to work? The UWSC offers dedicated drop-in hours throughout the week:
- Monday-Thursday: 12:30pm-5:00pm
- Friday: 12:30pm-4:15pm
- Sunday: 2:00pm-6:30pm
The UWSC lab is open for student use during our hours of operation. Come use our space for studying, computer work, printing, and relaxing between classes. Did you know that we have the best spot to take a nap on campus?
The UWSC will be closed for the following holidays:
- Labor Day: Monday, 9/7/26
- Nevada Day: Friday, 10/30/26
- Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, 11/26/26
- Family Day: Friday, 11/27/26
We will also close early at 2:00pm for staff meetings on the following Fridays: September 11, October 2, November 6, and December 4.
